Car JVs asked for import content data
The director general of foreign trade (DGFT) has sent notices to all joint car ventures, including Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL), to furnish details about the import content in cars manufactured by them. Industry sources said the notices had been sent following informal complaints lodged by some car manufacturers.

Govt may slap up to 10% duty on steel
The government is actively considering a proposal to impose anti-dumping duties ranging from 4% to 10% on various types of steel to overcome the impact of cheap import of steel, according to minister of state for steel and mines Ramesh Bais. The imposition of anti-dumping duty is expected to go a long way in the revival of the domestic steel industry.

No move on foreign equity: I&B minister
The government will not take any hurried decision with regard to allowing 100% foreign equity participation in the information and broadcasting sector, including electronic and print media, according to Union Minister of State Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
