CHANDIGARH, Oct 27: Hari Krishan of Training Command and J Singh bagged gold medals in 77 kg and 85 kg categories respectively, on the penultimate day of the Air Force weightlifting championship being held at 3 Base Repair Depot, Indoor Hall.
Hari Krishan lifted 105kg in snatch in his first attempt and 135kg in clean and jerk to take his total to 240 kg which got him first place. His team mate Sakti Velu, who also had a total lift of 240 kg got the second spot due to more body weight.
Third place went to Mani Maran of South Western Air Command with a total weight of 235kg.
There was a close fight between J Singh of Air Force Headquarter and Murugan of Southern Air Command for the first place in the 85 kg group. But it was J Singh who stole the show with a total lift of 282.5 kg while Murugan with a total of 280 kg got the second position.
GC Girish was way behind at the third spot with a total weight of 230 kg.

77 kg: 1 Hari Krishan -- total 240 kg (snatch 105 kg, jerk 135 kg), 2 Sakti Velu -- total 240 kg (S 107.5 kg, j 132.5 kg), 3 Mani Maran -- total 235 kg (s 100, j 135 kg). 85 kg: 1 J Singh 282.5 kg (s 127.5 kg, j 155 kg), 2 Murugan -- total 280 kg (s 127.5 kg, j 152.5 kg), 3 GC Girish -- total 230 kg (s 100 kg, j 130 kg). 94 kg: 1 Maheshwary -- total 282.5 kg (s 127.5 kg, j 155 kg), 2 SK Mavai -- total 227.5 kg (s 100 kg, j 127.5 kg), 3 Chauhan -- total 212.5 kg (s 90 kg, j 112.5 kg).
