CHANDIGARH, Oct 28: Varun Kassal beat Ramit Singla 14-21, 21-14, 21-18, to bag the sub-junior boys title in the Chandigarh state third ranking table tennis tournament being played at Sector 23 Table Tennis Hall. The girls sub-junior title went to Ruchi Gautam who got the better of Nadia Saini 21-18, 21-19.
In the junior boys section, Rahul Sharma defeated Jasmeet to enter the semifinal stage.

Sub-junior: Boys: Semifinal: Ramit Singla bt Rachit Goyal 21-17, 14-21, 21-8; Varun Kassal bt Sajal Kaushal 24-22, 21-16. Final: Varun Kassal bt Ramit Singla 14-21, 21-14, 21-18.
Girls: Semifinal: Ruchi Gautam bt Ketki 21-14, 21-19; Nadia Saini bt Megha Kassal 21-18, 15-21. Final: Ruchi Gautam bt Nadia Saini 21-18, 21-19.
Junior: Boys (quarterfinal): Amit Aggarwal bt Inderpreet Singh 21-18, 21-16; Sumit Grover bt Harpreet 21-19, 15-21, 21-10; Gaurav Bhatia bt Karan Mahajan 21-15, 21-10; Rahul Sharma bt Jasmeet 21-16, 21-5.
Cricket tourney
The fourth Gursagar cricket tournament would be held from November 6 to 16 at Gursagar Stadium, near Lake Club. Entry close on November 3, with the organising committee at the venue. Entry fee is Rs 1,000.
