Ruins of Cleopatra's palace, city found
Archaeologists in Alexandria have discovered the submerged island of Antirhodos where Cleopatra, the last queen of ancient Egypt, lived in the city lost over 1,600 years ago in the Mediterranean Sea. With the discovery of the lost royal quarters of the Ptolemies Dynasty (to which Cleopatra belonged), the Egyptian supreme council of antiquities has proposed to turn the site into an underwater museum.

Prithvi theatre festival starts today
Prithvi Theatre Festival, probably the biggest event in the cultural calendar of Mumbai, kicks off on Sunday. And what is specially important this year is that Mumbai will get to see some very interesting contemporary European theatre.

Jeans is Indian nomination for Oscar award
Jeans the Tamil feature film, which stars former Miss World Aishwarya Rai, has been selected as the Indian nomination for an Oscar award by the central committee of Film Federation of India. Directed by well-known director Shankar, with music scored by A R Rehman, is among the seven films selected by FFI, the others being three Hindi films, two Telugu films a Bengali film.
