NEW DELHI, Nov 1: Controversial politician Romesh Sharma has claimed before a city court that he used to receive threatening calls from Dawood Ibrahim, contradicting the police claim that he was an associate of the Dubai-based underworld don.
``We have documents to show that Dawood was Sharma's enemy Number 1 and evidence that the Dubai-based underworld don used to threaten him (Sharma),'' Sharma's counsel I U Khan told Metropolitan Magistrate K S Mohi when Crime Branch was seeking his police remand on Friday in connection with a land grabbing case in south Delhi.
