BJP screens hordes of ticket seekers
Besieged by ticket-seekers, the BJP today began the task of finalising candidates for the November 25 elections in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and Mizoram. Simultaneously, the party blamed the Opposition for the salt crisis, saying that it was done with an eye to discredit the BJP on the eve of elections.

Mamata sticks to her threat to BJP on rising prices
Announcing that her ``ultimatum to the Union Government on the issue of abnormal rise in the prices of essential commodities stayed'', the Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee said that her party would ``take a final decision on the issue of staying in the allies coordination committee tomorrow.''

Akali-BJP seat sharing talks deadlocked
The Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and BJP failed to arrive at any conclusive seat-sharing arrangement, though unconfirmed reports earlier in the day suggested that the BJP was willing to allocate five. The exact seats are yet to be decided which the BJP will give to the Akali Dal for the November 25 assembly elections in Delhi.
