Next time your child needs a shot, try a banana
With the new millennium, immunisation shots may just become natural history museum relics, if Professor Charles Arntzen has his way. For, all you'll have to do is eat a banana to get yourself protection from hepatitis-B, or, if you are up to it, eat raw potatoes for your dose of immunity against E. coli, the commonest cause of diarrhoea.

The arts of India are among the most aesthetic achievements of mankind. The Indian subcontinent has produced through its village artisans, its centres of specialist production and its imperial workshops an immense range and wealth of works of art.

Images without borders
Swiss-Indian Images of Mixed Memory is the 30-year-old Stefano Mussio's tribute to the land he was born in and the one he stumbled upon only recently. The exhibition, which opens on Thursday at the Piramal Art Gallery, chronicles a mingling of images culled from Mussio's memories of two places which may be polarised in time and physical space, but which, in the mind and eye of the photographer, are one.
