BJP pays the price, Mamata quits panel
Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee kept her word yesterday and quit the Coordination Committee in a dramatic, though not unexpected, protest against the Vajpayee government's failure to call a meeting of chief ministers to discuss ways to bring down spiralling prices.

No threat to Patel Government, asserts Hegde

Patwa, Verma in BJP list for Madhya Pradesh
The Bharatiya Janata Party has released its first list of 256 candidates for the 320 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh. Ninety five sitting legislators, including former chief ministers Sunder Lal Patwa and Kailash Joshi and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Vikram Verma have been renominated.
