Joshi no to foreign funds in education
Though the Government is strapped for cash in education, one source it will not resort to is foreign funding. Several NRIs and foreign nationals are interested in establishing schools in India but Minister for Human Resource Development Murli Manohar Joshi has decided against it.

Govt to put all pension-related matter on Net
The government has decided to put all circulars and other important material relating to pensioners on the Internet. Union Minister of State for Personnel and Pensions K M R Janarthanan said it had also been decided to step up pension by 50% and family pension by 30%.

HC refuses to stay Channel [V] music bash; SAI cautioned
The much-hyped 1998 Channel [V] music awards presentation ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will go unhindered with the Delhi High Court refusing to put a stay on it on the allegation in a public interest petition (PIL) that it would spoil the turf and track.
