Indian human smuggling ring busted in America
American immigration authorities announced on Friday that they had busted a global immigrant smuggling operation that ferried some 12,000 people, mostly Indians, into the United States over a three year period.

Iraq has firmly rejected requests by UN weapons inspectors to hand over documents on its chemical, biological and ballistic weapons systems but president Bill Clinton responded cautiously saying it was important not to overreact to Iraqi objections.

Toll in China quake rises; 1,600 injured
The toll from the twin earthquakes in southwest China rose to two and nearly 1,600 injured on Saturday with a further 200 casualties reported, officials said.
