Exxon in talks to buy Mobil; deal likely next week
Exxon Corp, the world's largest energy company, is in talks to acquire rival Mobil Corp, the second largest US oil company, in a stock transaction, sources familiar with the deal said. The companies have not yet determined an acquisition price for Mobil, and it was thought they were still evaluating the value of the proposed deal.
