Economic reforms to continue: PM
The setback suffered by the Bharatiya Janata Party at the hustings will have no impact on the momentum of economic reforms, prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee said. Vajpayee further stated that his government had successfully depoliticised the economic agenda.

Inflation rate falls to 8.54 pc
After touching a three-year high last week, annual rate of inflation fell sharply by 0.31 points to 8.54% for the week ended November 14, as signs of easing of food prices emerged for the first time.

Export targets lowered to 15%
Export growth rate target for the current fiscal year has been lowered to 15% from the earlier level of 20% in view of global recession and the persisting Asian monetary crisis, Union Commerce Minister Ramakrishna Hegde said.
