Outlandish and illegal
Any impression among woolly-headed liberals that the BJP, realising that India being multi-religious and multi-lingual can play an effective role in the world only if it can give a sense of equal participation to the minorities, would surely have been dispelled by observing the BJP's chauvinistic stance in the matter of school songs.

The party is still wary of her
When Sonia Gandhi went to Raipur last week to address an election rally, she struck a chord with the women. Sonia spoke for no more than eight minutes, but she spent five minutes waving and most of it was directed at the women's enclosure.

A mature verdict
It is a clear, positive vote for good governance. Those whom the voters believe have failed in providing this have been rejected outright. Unlike in the past, they were not moved by slogans or rhetoric.
