Pak turns to spin on Washington's sticky wicket

Oust Sharif, Benazir urges Punjabis
Pakistan's opposition alliance is all set to launch the final round of its movement against the Nawaz Sharif government in mid-December. Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto laid the groundwork for the campaign in Lahore on Saturday, urging Punjabis to "get rid of Sharif to save the country".

Reprieve for Anwar's defence counsel
A defence counsel of ousted deputy premier Anwar Ibrahim won a last-minute reprieve against a three-month jail sentence for contempt of court, as hundreds of lawyers descended on the main courthouse.
