Cong to tie up with RPI, SP
The Congress has firmed up its alliances for the forthcoming zilla parishad and panchayat samiti elections. It will repeat the successful formula of seat sharing with the Republican Party of India and the Samajwadi Party (SP), but with a difference.
Supportive allies seek Govt strategy on prices
The BJP's allies unequivocally told the Government to pull up its socks especially on the price situation. Having lost a number of seats themselves in the assembly elections, several allies took the Government to task saying that its failure to act in time despite their warnings had a direct bearing on the poll results.
Cong seeks Deputy Speaker's post in LS
In view of the Congress having scored major victories in the recent Assembly elections, the party demanded that the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker's post be given to its nominee and senior party leader P M Sayeed.
