Assembly polls spelt doom for Third Force, says Advani
Results of the recent Assembly elections in four states have spelt the demise of the Third Force, leaving the political field open to two major players -- the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, Union Home Minister L K Advani said.

Jaya for early passage of Women's Bill
AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha suggested raising the number of seats in both houses of Parliament and state assemblies by one third and reserving the newly-created seats exclusively for women to overcome the opposition from political parties to the Women's Reservation Bill in its existing form.
