VSNL likely to slash Net service rates
The battle of the net unleashed by the entry of private Internet Service Providers (ISP) in the country has drawn its first blood. The casualty is none other than the country's telecom monolith -- Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited now mending ways to sustain monopoly.

United closes deal to insure DPC
Dabhol Power Company (DPC) has closed its insurance cover deal with Chennai-based United Insurance last week making it one of the most expensive insurance cover for any power project. The insurance firm has already received a Rs 35 crore premium for providing the insurance cover to the second phase of the Ratnagiri-based power project.

Colgate-Palmolive sacks 30 managers to trim flab
The Rs 987-crore dental health care products giant, Colgate-Palmolive, has struck 30 of its senior managers based in New Delhi, Mumbai and Aurangabad off its rolls.
