CPI-ML settles for Dipankar
The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) has elected young turk Dipankar Bhattacharya as its new General Secretary. The election was necessitated by the death of Vinod Mishra five days ago.

Gowda flays move
Former prime minister H D Deve gowda criticised the Union Government's decision to build expressways in the country, and charged the Centre with doing everything in practice which was "opposite of what is desired in a developing country."

Manipur team meets PM
