Four vehicles reported stolen

SURAT, Dec 27: Four vehicles, a car, a motorcycle, a scooter and a moped, were reported stolen from different parts of the city during the past 24 hours, the city police stated.

According to details, Dhirubhai Parshottambhai Patel, a resident of Shri Complex in Katargam, in a complaint with the Katargam police stated that his Maruti 800 car (DD 03 A 1316) was stolen by unidentified persons from his apartment's parking slot in the night. A case has been registered and investigations are on, the police said.

In the second case of theft registered in the Varachha police station on Sunday, an unregistered new Suzuki motorcycle of Chetan Vijay was reported stolen from a apartment in Varachha area. Vijay told the police that he had bought the motorcycle a couple of days ago and was yet to get it registered. A case has been registered.

In the third case, a scooter (GJ 5 K 5150) was stolen from the GHB Main road near Saliya Market on Sunday morning, according to the Mahidharpura police. According to a complaint filed by one Shalebhai Vora, a resident of Zampa Bazaar area, he had parked his scooter on the Saliya Market main road. When he returned, he found it missing.

In the fourth case registered at the Athwa Lines police station on Sunday, a Kinetic Luna moped (GJ 5 DD 8429) was stolen by unidentified persons from the parking of Jai Ambe Society in the area. Vehicle owner, Uttam Ram, told the police that his vehicle was stolen from the parking of his apartment during the night.

While the police have registered cases of vehicle thefts under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in the respective stations and are investigating, no vehicle has been recovered.
