Inflation falls to 7.01 %
The annual rate of inflation slid further to 7.01% for the week ended December 12 as prices of food articles continued to return to normalcy from their recent highs.

Companies line up for preferential offers
It's not only ACC, an increasing number of companies are coming out with preferential issue of warrants and shares. At least ten companies had announced preferential issues in the month of November, mainly to increase the equity stake of promoters when share prices are generally ruling at low levels.

RRBs turn around, recover Rs 800 cr
In a remarkable turnaround, the 196 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) operating in 23 states recovered about Rs 809 crore of their losses to post an impressive profit of Rs 303 crore during 1997-98.
