Jaswant Singh will have his first opportunity as External Affairs Minister to display his powers of persuasion during the visit of Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga, if he can get his colleague in the Commerce Ministry to agree to the details of a Free Trade Treaty between New Delhi and Colombo.
Paramilitary units deployed to check Delhi crime wave
After two shocking double murders in Saket in as many days, paramilitary forces have been deployed in Delhi. This is the first time in the history of the city that paramilitary forces are deployed in non-riot situations.
