MUMBAI, JAN 1: The BEST Undertaking will introduce at least 25 new air-conditioned buses in addition to the existing fleet of 21. ``Depending on the demand we will decide the routes,'' Chairperson of BEST Committee Arving Nerkar said while announcing plans for 1999 on Thursday.
The undertaking will also make a foray into city tourism with the introduction of four buses fitted with polycarbonate roofs. As a new year gift to the residents of Nariman Point, Colaba and Backbay Reclamation, the undertaking has announced a 110 KV supply station. Nerkar claimed that the supply station, which will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister A B Vajpayee in February, would cater to over 50,000 consumers.
