EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

NEW DELHI, January 3: The body of an unidentified, 20-year-old man which was found frozen in the under-carriage of a British Airways aircraft at the Indira Gandhi International Airport yesterday, has been deposited at the Safdarjung mortuary. The stowaway's body was found entangled in the under-carriage of the airlines' flight BA-144.

The police believe that the body belongs to a Bangladeshi national and have sent the details to their counterparts in Dhaka. A letter written in Bengali has been recovered along with the body, which will be preserved at the mortuary for the next 72 hours.

The British Airways flight took off from Dhaka for London and landed for a stopover at the IGI Airport. The police say that the stowaway might have hidden in the undercarriage in Dhaka, adding that the lack of air pressure caused his death.
