Bengal face-off against Delhi for place in Wills Trophy final

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

JAMSHEDPUR, JAN 13: Bolstered by an emphatic win over Tamil Nadu in the quarter-final at Calcutta, a rejuvenated Bengal would take on Delhi in the limited-overs Wills Trophy semi-final match at Keenan Stadium here tomorrow.

Bengal would depend on their in-form batsmen Devang Gandhi, who notched up a brilliant 103 against Tamil Nadu in the previous match, Nikhil Haldipur, pinch-hitter Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Rohan Gavaskar.

Delhi, who clinched a cliff-hanger victory over Board President's XI at Guwahati, would cash on their strong top order batting line up. The team also has a good bowling line-up with Amit Bhandari, A Mehra, Akash Malhotra, Rahul Sanghvi and Harinder Chowdhury forming an effective pace-spin combination.

Robin Singh (junior) is likely to join the team tonight and in that case Delhi would play with three seamers.

However, the final eleven of both the teams would be decided after the team meetings later in the evening.

Delhi coach Surendra Khanna said the any score on the Keenan pitch, which would favour batsmen, can be chased effectively.

Khanna also said he was not taking the opponents lightly.
