PANAJI, JAN 15: Hollywood stars Richard Gere, Steven Seagal, Harrison Ford and Goldie Hawn have confirmed participation at a music concert in New Delhi on March 27, organised to highlight the plight of Tibetan refugees.

The Karuna Foundation, which is organising the concert, is negotiating with a well-known international band, its secretary P K Malhotra told a group of visiting mediapersons at the Mundgod seminary in Karnataka. The Karuna Foundation is headed by a former lama, Dr Kagyur Rinpoche.

The Dalai Lama and the leader of the Tibetan exiles Tenzing Gyatso will also attend the concert.

Earlier this week, the Dalai Lama gave his blessings to the foundation which is celebrating this year as the Year of Compassion.

As part of the celebrations, the foundation is setting up an eye-care centre in Himachal Pradesh and Tibetan holistic health centres in Delhi and Maharashtra.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dalai Lama called for the integration of compassion in one's life. ``If the basis of yourmotivation is compassion, then all such activities will be for the benefit of others,'' he said.
