Five members of the faculty also took part in a rally held by the faculty of AIIMS, on January 18 to press their demand for implementation of revised pay scales.

The doctors, who represented PGI in the rally included Dr P.Kulhara, Dr S.C.Sharma, Dr Yogesh Chawla, Dr Rakesh Kochhar and Dr R. Vishist.

"The option of proceeding on mass casual leave like it is being done at AIIMS on January 25 is also being considered. Although it will be under great compulsion that we'll take this decision as we don't want the public and our work to suffer, " said Dr A. Awasthy, member of the Association.
