BJP yatra to blow its own trumpet

VADODARA, Jan 24: The ruling Bharatiya Janata party is taking out a week-long Surajya Adhikar Yatra all over the state to inform the people about the fulfilment of the promises made by the party during the last elections. The yatra will commence on January 26.

The yatra will be taken out from all district and taluka headquarters. While the yatra in Gandhinagar will be flagged off by Chief Minister Keshbubhai Patel, those at district headquarters by the respective guardian ministers and at talukas by the respective legislators.

Addressing a joint press conference here on Sunday, former mayor Shabtsharan Brahmbhatt and MLA Bhupendra Lakhawala said the yatra will move for seven days in every assembly segment and an exhibition of the achievements of the BJP government in the state will be held at all taluka and district headquarters.

People from various walks of life like students, professionals, businessmen and intellectuals will participate in the yatra.

During night stay in villages, cultural programmes by folk artistes and public meetings will also be held, the two BJP leaders said. Literature on works of public welfare undertaken by various departments of the government will also be distributed during the yatra.

Free medical check up camps, particularly, eye check-up and health camps, will be organised in villages.
