Opening a controversial chapter in Sikh politics and deepening the divide within the Akali Dal, Giani Puran Singh was installed as the acting Jathedar of the Akal Takht days after Bhai Ranjit Singh was suspended by loyalists of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Bus to Lahore all revved up
