J-K Governor to be guardian of Rajouri orphans

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
JAMMU, FEB 22: In an unprecedented move, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Girish Chander Saxena will act as guardian of children of those killed by militants in Rajouri and Udhampur districts recently.

Announcing this in the State Legislative Assembly here today, State Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said the Government will bear all expenses of the children till they turn 18. The Government has also decided to provide them with jobs.

Besides, the Government will deposit Rs 5 lakh for them, Farooq said.
