Publish works that highlight social issues

PUNE, Feb 22: Madhya Pradesh governor, Dr Bhai Mahaveer, today urged publishers to publish works which earnestly highlight social issues and which help in bridging the gap among various sections of the people. Speaking at the National Convention of Indian Language Publishers, Dr Mahaveer opined that the country has a great history and has sustained the values of tolerance. However, these social values seemed to have faded away, when after 50 years of independence, we see a rift among various sections of the people. The literary works should highlight social issues and help to unite people. The literary contribution of every individual in any profession assumes great significance, he said.

President of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Prakashak Sangh Sharad Gogate, Vishwas Dastane, president of Federation of Indian Publishers D.N. Malhotra, vice-presidents H.R. Dasgouda, Rajendra Gupta, and Debjyoti Datta, general secretary Narendra Kumar, joint secretary Asharani were present on the occasion. Eminent publishers from all over the country were felicitated on the occasion.
