AMRITSAR, MARCH 3: The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) today said the general house meeting summoned here on March 22 was in response to the requisition of 103 pro-Badal SGPC members to discuss the no-confidence motion against SGPC president G S Tohra and other office-bearers.
Regarding presentation of the SGPC budget for 1999-2000, secretary Surjit Singh clarified in a release here that there was no other item on the agenda of the meeting.
He said the Amritsar deputy commissioner had also been informed about the meeting as required under the Sikh Gurdwara Act.
Meanwhile, notices of the meeting have been despatched to all SGPC members through registered post.
