Indicted in land case, Joshi takes moral high ground
Battered by a string of adverse rulings by the Bombay High Court in the case involving his son-in-law Girish Vyas, former chief minister Manohar Joshi today announced his decision to quit his assembly seat on moral grounds.

Bhandari offers to quit
Despite his repeated public assertions that he would stay on as Bihar Governor, Sunder Singh Bhandari reportedly offered to step down when he met Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Home Minister L K Advani.

Shekhar to head House panel
A 16-member committee comprising senior Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha leaders was set up today to decide whether a debate could be held in Parliament on the sacking of naval chief Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat.
