Old beauties to grace Pune roads
There was a time when, driving down the roads of the country, one could smell the Banyan and mango trees instead of petrol fumes. An unimaginable occurrence today, the wooden-bodied 1931 Dodge Brothers Minibus belonging to the Pune's Rahul Sable, will be among the 104 cars and motorcycles that will be flagged off for The Indian Express-VCCCI vintage car rally.

A temple for three Gandhis
One is used to temples and shrines springing up in the name of gods and goddesses. Statues of leaders by the roadside and on office premises are also not new. But the brainchild of a Congress sarpanch is something unusual -- a temple in the name of three Gandhis -- Mahatma, Indira and Rajiv.

On the wings of death
Birds start arriving in droves from Russia, China and Afghanistan in mid-November to stay in various wetland reserves in Jammu and Kashmir. But now firing from across the border has considerably decreased their numbers.
