DOS HERMANAS, APRIL 7: Judit Polgar of Hungary shocked Viswanathan Anand in the first round of the Dos Hermanas Super Grandmasters tournament on Tuesday. Anand's Sicilian defence took a beating against the ever-positive Polgar in 35 moves.English Grandmaster Michael Adams clipped the wings of Russian GM Peter Svidler. The other two games, Miguel Illescas-Veselin Topalov, Kramnik-Karpov, ended in draws.
Alexander Morozevich, whose rating has skyrocketed to 2723, pulled out of his first big event because of illness. Boris Gelfand of Israel replaces him and will take on Victor Korchonoi in the first round, which was not played today.
