Some files and a two-wheeler parked in the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation office were burnt when miscreants set fire to the office last night. But the fire brigade was summoned and the blaze was extinguished, Municipal Commissioner P S Vasrad told newsmen.

Meanwhile, another godown-cum-workshop in the city caught fire last night due to a short circuit. It had nothing to do with the agitation, Police Commissioner B G Kokanur said. The fire could not be controlled till late last night. However, the loss was not yet estimated, he said.

While the condition of B D Hiremath, president Bar Association was deteriorating, Korishettar, Joint Secretary, Karnataka Kannada Action Committee and advocateShantesh Oleka were admitted to the civil hospital and Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), police said.

According to the Police Commissioner, vehicular traffic entering the twin cities had been diverted on account of torching of vehicles by the agitators.

All city buses in the twin cities were off the roads today, Kokanur said. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party workers resorted to rasta roko in different parts of Hubli city, which witnessed some stone throwing incidents today also, police said.

Three buses and one jeep were torched and one of the buses completely burnt down at Hubli yesterday.
