Telephonic greetings on Khalsa
The Department of Telecom (DoT) has decided to extend telephonic greetings across the country from April 12 to 14 as part of the Khalsa tercentenary celebrations. Accordingly, arrangements have been made by the Vadodara Telecom District to extend the announcement in Hindi as `Khalsa Panth ke 300 Saal Sajna Diwas ki Badhai' in all E-10B type of exchanges (telephone nos beginning with 33, 34, 37, 38, 41, 47, 49, 78, 84 (Nadesari) and 4 (Padra) during this period. The recorded message, being fed along with the dial tone, will be automatically disconnected once subscribers start dialling.

Surgeries
Reconstruction surgeries were performed on as many as 62 leprosy patients during the past five days at a special leprosy camp organised at the S S G Hospital. Distinguished surgeons Yogesh Bhatt, Suhas Abhyankar, R C Rajput, Sandeep Satur and Ravindra conducted the camp which will continue till April 14. The camp is being held as part of the State-wide anti-leprosy programme from April 7.

Appointed
Suryakumar K Karnetkar has been appointed organisational joint secretary of the Vadodara Youth Congress. Karnetkar has been associated with the Congress for the last 20 years.

Anniversary
Mayor Bharti Vyas will garland the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar opposite the GEB Head Office, Race Course, at 8 am on his leader's birth anniversary on April 14.

TB camp held
Members of the Tuberculosis Association, Vadodara, and Faculty of Social Work students jointly held a TB awareness camp for students of the Industrial Training School, Gorwa, recently.
