Gujarat may lose Central grant
About Rs 192.01 crore, sanctioned by the Centre to supplement the resources of Gujarat's panchayats and municipalities for four years since 1996 may lapse as the state government is still sitting over a Gujarat Finance Commission report. The report was submitted nearly two years ago.

Domestic abuse can't be brushed off as a private affair
Hitting, slapping or throwing a woman out of her house cannot be brushed aside as a `domestic' problem because it violates the Constitution itself, according to research conducted by the International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW) in partnership with Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

HC lifts stay order on JVPD police complex
Justice A P Shah of the Bombay High Court vacated the stay order on construction of a police complex on a plot at Juhu Vile Parle Development Scheme (JVPD) area. The stay was earlier granted by him on March 16.
