Chennai, April 13: Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P.T. R Palanivel Rajan on Monday ruled out the possibility of reconsidering the decision against AIADMK MLAs R. Tamaraikani and C. Karuppasamy who were suspended for the rest of the budget session for their behaviour on March 22 when the House witnessed violent incidents.
Responding to a request in this regard from P.R. Sundaram (AIADMK), the Speaker recalled statements of AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalitha, said to have been made in the House during her chief ministership. She had requested the then Speaker to take action against Tamaraikani, who was disturbing the Assembly proceedings. Palanivel Rajan warned Sundaram not to raise the suspension issue any more. .It may be recalled that Tamaraikani's action in the assembly created a sensation when he resorted to violence and was subsequently ordered arrested by the Speaker. But the High Court intervened and ordered his release.
