Sonia herds her flock onto stability plank
Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday chose "stability'' as the single issue which would decide the outcome of the coming elections, "warning'' that a fourth election in four years before 2000 A.D. will have to be faced if the BJP-led coalition returned to power.
Manu held, brought to Delhi for interrogation
In a major breakthrough in the Jessica Lal murder case, prime suspect Siddharth Vashisht alias Manu Sharma, son of former Union minister Vinod Sharma, on Thursday surrendered to police in Chandigarh and was brought to Delhi for interrogation.
Bus plunges into river in WB, 24 killed
Twenty-four passengers died after a Malda-bound bus fell into the Bhagirathi river in Behrampore in West Bengal's murshidabad district in the early hours on Thursday. So far, the rescue team has been able to fish out 20 bodies from the river.
