Bajaj Auto net rises 16.4 pc
Bajaj Auto Ltd has reported a 16.4% growth in the net profit during the fiscal ended March 1999 despite a sluggish growth in the scooter segment. The company's board of directors, which met on Tuesday, recommended a dividend of Rs 8 per share (80%) the same as last year.

BIFR asks IDBI to probe CCIL manipulation
The Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) has appointed Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) to look into the allegations raised by lending banks and financial institutions about manipulation of accounts by Chemox Chemicals Industries Ltd.

Sensex jumps again, crosses 3,900 mark
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued their aggressive purchases on the Indian stock markets for the tenth consecutive session on Tuesday. With buyers swamping the markets, the BSE sensitive index (Sensex) jumped by another 80 points and crossed the psychological barrier of 3900 mark.
