Pak confirms Sethi's arrest
The Nawaz Sharif government has confirmed the arrest of The Friday Times Editor Najam Sethi, though the deputy attorney general on Monday feigned ignorance before the Lahore High Court about the scribe's arrest.
Halt bombings; China, Russia tell US
China and Russia demanded an immediate end to NATO's bombings of Yugoslavia to pave way for a diplomatic solution to the Kosovo conflict. The joint stand against the US-led NATO action emerged following high-level talks Russian president's special envoy Viktor Chernomyrdin had with the Chinese leadership.
