Arunachal Governor sacked
Acting on the Vajpayee Government's advice, President K R Narayanan yesterday dismissed Arunachal Pradesh Governor Mata Prasad for refusing to resign and accepted West Bengal Governor A R Kidwai's resignation.

Senior Congress leader Sharad Pawar is visiting Chennai on May 17 for the second round of talks with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief J Jayalalitha on a tie-up between the two parties in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
BJD, JD talks on seat-sharing fail
Talks between the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Janata Dal (JD) over seat adjustment in Orissa in the coming next Lok Sabha polls failed on Thursday on the issue of support to the Atal Behari Vajpayee government at the Centre.
