Army admits to infiltrators presence
The Army for the first time yesterday acknowledged the presence of about 600 infiltrators inside Indian territory and another 400 across the Line of Control, and said a four-pronged attack was under way to recover the higher ridgelines in the Batalik, Kaksar, Drass and Mushkoh areas.

Pak sorties over Kargil, IAF ready to strike
Two fighter aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force flew over the Mushko Valley and Drass sector yesterday even as the stage was set for the Indian Air Force with its fleet of fighter aircraft and helicopters to expunge the well entrenched infiltrators at the Srinagar-Kargil national highway.

Jaya `ill', framing of charges deferred
Framing of charges in the TANSI land and office building case relating to Jaya Publications was put off to May 28 for the second time today, as the prime accused former chief minister J Jayalalitha and former Rural Industries Minister Mohammad Asif did not turn up before P Anbazhagan, judge, Special Court-III, today.
