The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) has drawn up an ambitious five-year plan to take on a number of developmental works following directives issued by the Central Government. The board has first decided to widen all the Cantonment Fund roads and shift the MSEB poles which are presently obstructing traffic. The entire sewerage system in the civil area of the cantonment will be re-modelled and improved. The project has been estimated at around Rs. 4 crore.

MES Roads which are in a pretty bad state owing to the refusal of the department to resurface them on the grounds that the civil population used them will now be done up by the board. The cantonment board has earmarked Ghorpuri Road, Salisbury Road, Wanowrie Road and AFSC Road near Koregaon Park for widening and re-surfacing.

A commercial complex has been earmarked at the site of Shankarsheth Road while a fire engine shed is slated to come up in the complex of the Fire Brigade off Shankarsheth Road. The other projects which will soon be taken up by the cantonment board include an electric crematorium at Muktidham, residential quarters for cantonment board employees and extension of school buildings at New Modikhana and Old Modikhana.
