New telecom package allows revenue sharing
After two years of dilly-dallying and keeping the telecom industry on tenterhooks the government has finally decided to allow all private sector operators in the field of cellular, basic, paging and other value added services to move to a revenue sharing arrangement in place of the present regime of licence fees.

Govt clears divestment in 8 PSUs
The cabinet committee on disinvestment has cleared sale of equity in eight public sector companies for raising Rs 10,000 crore during the current financial year.

Govt allows private participation in FM
In a move that would double the FM network in the country, the government has approved private participation in the FM radio broadcasting services.
