Junior college teachers to hold dharna

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, July 11: Members of the Mumbai Junior College Teachers Union (MJCTU) will stage a dharna at Azad Maidan on Monday. They are demanding an increase in their pay scales. Last week they had burnt a government resolution dated May 13 stating that the pay scales in it are unacceptable.

The May GR spoke of two-tier pay scale to junior college teachers: Rs 6,500 - Rs 10,500 (basic scale) and Rs 7,500 - Rs 12,000 (senior scale). The junior college teachers were demanding a three-tier pay scale starting with Rs 7,500. They also asked for the implementation of four other demands.
