Paper drive for Kargil victimsThe Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, the youth wing of The Chinmaya Mission, is organising a newspaper and magazine drive, whereby all newspapers and magazines collected will be sold and the proceeds will be sent for the benefit of the wives and children of jawans who have laid down their lives in Kargil. Balvihar, the children's class of the mission, is also organising a similar drive. The yuva kendra has appealed to individuals, companies and schools to pitch in. Book sale at The Bookpoint
The Bookpoint bookstore and Time Books are hosting a exhibition and sale of books titled `Books at 99'. Several titles are being offered at a special price of Rs 99. A discount of 15 per cent on all books displayed, other than those being offered at Rs 99, will also be offered. The exhibition will be held at The Bookpoint at R Kamani Marg, Ballard Estatefrom July 12 to 24, from 9.30 am to 7 pm.
Workshop on self defence
The Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) will hold a half-day training workshop on self defence for women on July 17 from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm at Asha Kiran, 53 J P Road, Andheri west.
