PUNE, JULY 11: Sayali Gokhale of Pune bagged a fine double when she lifted both the midget singles and the doubles titles in the Sushant Chipalkatti Memorial junior State Ranking Badminton Championship at the WIE sports complex here today.
After an easy outing against Mumbai Suburb's Riddhi Panjwani in a match that lasted a mere 14 minutes, Sayali added the midget doubles crown to her singles title.
Teaming with Shipi Kankane, she beat Riddhi Panjwani and Shweta Khare (Thane), 15-9 6-15 17-14 in the doubles final. Sayali, however, was made to work harder than in the singles final, completing the double after 60 minutes play.
The Nagpur lass, Varda Dixit was the other girl to claim the individual crown in the mini singles section when she scored a hard-fought victory over Mudra Dhaninje of Pune 11-9 7-11 11-5 in a tie which lasted over 45 minutes.
The sub-junior doubles pair of Dhanya Nair and Manasi Bhave walked away with the title when their opponents Shivani Mayekar (MS) & Deepti Paranjape failed toturn up.
