New Delhi, July 13: The Indian Army, which had clinching evidence of the involvement of Pakistani Army regulars, including the Northern Light Infantry, today claimed the commanding officer of 5th NLI had been relieved of command ``on grounds of incompetence''.
Newspersons here were told that officers of the NLI, felt cheated for having been made ``cannon fodder in the misadventure in Kargil.''
The Pakistan Army, he said, ``has decided to post some of these officers to the country's embassies abroad, besides giving all of them enhanced monetary benefits."
