CHENNAI, JULY 15: A beleaguered Janata Party president Dr Subramanian Swamy, who has been left out of the AIADMK-led front in Tamil Nadu, today snapped his party's ties with the AIADMK.In a letter to AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha, a copy of which was released to the press here, Dr Swamy, serving an ultimatum to her, said his party's relations with the AIADMK would stand terminated unless he received a positive response, by 1800 hrs today, on his demand for his renomination from the Madurai Lok Sabha seat. ``This is our irreducible minimum demand'', he added.
Inquiries with the party office here revealed that there was no response from the AIADMK and that the alliance was terminated.
In his letter, Dr Swamy also complained that Jayalalitha had given him an appointment only at 1830 hrs tomorrow, though he had been pressing for it since yesterday.
